Dear HIS Niseko Seasonal School Prospective Parent,
Due to these uncertain times regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel our scheduled Seasonal School for this Summer, 2020. This was truly a difficult decision. We think it is the right one to make at this time. Things are just too unpredictable at the time of this writing. I am very sorry about this cancellation.
Let us hope for a resolution and we plan to be back for the summer of 2021.
Sincerely, Barry Mernin

Learn amidst the natural beauty of NISEKO!
Created by members of our experienced Hokkaido International School staff, participants receive the best possible instruction. from highly qualified teachers, supported by a dedicated summer staff that place students first.
Taught in English, this program provides students from around Asia with the opportunity to experience fun, independent and creative thinking skills alongside outdoor physical education activities.
This school is aimed for children of Western and Asian education systems who wish to come to Niseko to enjoy the beautiful setting, study in English. A native English speaking teacher will present a fun and active learning environment.
Hokkaido International School Niseko has created this program for short term summer learners. This educational experience is usually only available to full-time students at international schools. Thus, we are pleased to provide this course for learners who have a keen interest in English whether they have learnt just a little or if they have lived abroad.
The HIS Seasonal School runs over 4 weeks and each week is an independent learning module. The students will have an immersion experience and learn English communication through play while speaking and writing English.
We are devoted to play. Students can know that the work they have done up to this point will carry over into how they move in any task for the rest of the session without thinking about it. Tasks will include team sports, running, and hiking.
The theme for the summer will be How Learners Learn. Each week will focus on a specific inquiry.
Week 1 July 20 (Mon) to July 25 (Fri)
Week 2 July 27 (Mon) to August 1 (Fri)
Week 3 Aug 3 (Mon) to August 8 (Fri)
Week 4 August 10 (Mon) to August 15 (Fri)
