A Welcome Back to School
We would like to welcome back everyone from the holidays and wish students our best as we wrap up the first semester and start into the second semester of the school year.
We wanted to thank our community members for coming out to the Winter Celebration at the end of 2019 year, just before we headed out on holidays.

From the Principal’s Office

Greetings from the Executive Board
Notices from the Executive Board:
Outgoing EB Chair:
November 30, 2019
Dear HIS Community,
It is with regret that I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign my position on the HIS Executive Board, effective immediately.
Although I have only been Executive Board Chair since August 1, 2019, it has been increasingly difficult for me to fulfill the requirements of Executive Board Chair as well as Board member, and I feel it would be best for me to step down from my board responsibilities at this time.
It has been a pleasure being part of the HIS Executive Board and I am honored to have served the HIS community as a Board member these past 5 1/2 years. The experience I earned has been very valuable and I wish the Board and New Chair, Phred Kaufman, the very best.
Warmest regards,
Alan Bossaer
Incoming EB Chair:
Dear Husky Community,
I would like to thank Alan B for all of his hard work on the HIS Board.
I look forward to working with the Executive Board and Administration of the school in ensuring a smooth and positive transition to the new head of school.
Sincerely yours,
Phred Kaufman

@ Niseko
Dear Teachers, Staff, Parents and Prospective Parents of HIS Niseko
Santa Project 2019
Three cheers for Kristian Lund!
Kristian heroically volunteered to deliver gifts for the Iwanai and Rankoshi children for Santa Project 2019. I couldn't think of anyone being a better Santa Claus than Kristian. He has helped HIS Niseko in so many ways. Tip of the cap to you, Kris Kringle!
Big thanks go to Anita Churiki and Liene Lase for coordinating all of the endless logistics so the kids could get their requested gifts.
Thank you to Fuji Bakery of Kutchan for their fine cakes.
Thank you, donors, for your continued financial support in keeping this tradition alive each year.
I am sure that the kids are very happy.
Winter Celebration Thank You!
Thank you all for attending our Annual Winter Celebration. It was a joy to watch the children sing, dance, recite, play, and act. I very much appreciate seeing all taking the time out of this busy season to watch the kids perform.
Thank you for being such a fine audience.
Upcoming Dates:
- Jan 17 Ski Day at Annupuri

Library News
Our Christmas Break is coming and we would like to see you in the Library helping your child to select books for the break. You are welcome to come in with your child and borrow from 3:30 to 4:30 each school day. Of course students can always come in before school or at lunchtime as well, so please do encourage them to always have a reading book that interests them!
We are also actively seeking to recruit volunteers to help our existing dedicated parents and former parents who are the mainstay of our library service. Without the support of parents we could not provide the range of books that we currently have. Please contact me if you would like more information nholywell@his.ac.jp or drop into the library.
Babysitting
If you are an HIS parent and are looking for a babysitter for an evening or on the weekend, please feel free to contact his@his.ac.jp
Interested HIS parents can then be provided with a list of students available for babysitting.
Also, if you are looking for a student tutor for your child, please contact his@his.ac.jp
