Memorial For Mayu Fujita - Saturday, February 24
Mayu Fujita’s Memorial will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the school from 13:00 ~ 16:00 on Saturday, February 24..
The Memorial will be an open house style so that friends of the family and school community members can drop by to view photo collections, some of Mayu’s favorite personal belongings, selections of her school work and a slide and video clip presentation.
At the family’s request, please come dressed casually and in regular colours, in memory of a very bright and cheerful person.
Flower arrangements will be colorful in nature and incorporate yellow.
A Thing of Beauty:
Last week, when their teacher was away and the middle school portion of the choir was away for ski days, the high school choir students were left on their own to practice.
It was so impressive to watch them take charge of themselves and to sing through several of the numbers they are preparing for the annual performance at Kitara.
The combination of student leadership, individual commitment and beautiful voices coming together for a common purpose was beautiful to watch.
We hope you are all excited about the June 1st performance. See you there!

Saturday - April 14, 2018
When: 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Gym and in the MPR
There will be a flea market, food for sale, games to play, hot and cold drinks - bargains and fun for the whole family!
Donations will be accepted for PTA stall
Spring is a nice time to clean the house. If you have things that are still in good condition but are no longer used / needed, we will find them a new home!
Starting in March, there will be large donation box at the school’s entrance.
Maybe you can encourage your child/ren to go through their toys and books!
* No clothes please (unless new with a tag). Also, no shoes or stuffed animals.
* All proceeds from sales provide grants to clubs, activities and materials which benefit student learning and enjoyment of school life.
Vendors can participate in the flea market to sell used or new goods - clothes, toys, books, handicrafts, etc. (excluding food/drinks). Vendor spaces are open to the school community and the general public. A vendor space costs 1,500yen and measures approximately 2 x 1.5 meters (a discount rate of 1,000 yen applies for current HIS Staff, Parents and Students).
To reserve a vendor space, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call HIS (011-816-5000) by Wednesday, April 11th.
Vendor space positions are allocated on a first-come first-served basis - hurry up and register!!!
*HIS welcomes amateur and professional vendors alike. Specific guidelines will be explained to all vendors in order to ensure a relaxed atmosphere for this family event.

Please save the date of March 1 for our MP1-MP3 IPC Exit Point and Knowledge Harvest. Our students are hard at work preparing to make our learning visible and accessible for our community.

Congratulations to our EY student, Nino! Nino practiced the virtue of CREATIVITY this week as he showed his classmates a new way to sled. I was thoroughly impressed and I thought I had seen it all.
Great job, Nino. We are lucky to learn alongside you each day.

A reminder to players of all teams … except for MS girls … that you should have by now washed, folded and returned your uniform to your manager or me.
It is a very time-consuming job each year to collect all these uniforms and we appreciate your support and responsibility.
The deadline for all players is Wednesday 21st … after this date will be gym suspensions!
The MS girls are having a Goal a Thon this Friday after school … please think about supporting them if one of them asks you.
