Reggio Emilia

Next week, Hokkaido International School looks forward to welcoming Ms. Junko Cancemi, likely the most renowned expert on the Reggio-Emilia approach to early childhood learning here in the nation of Japan.

Ms. Cancemi was a longtime Early years teacher at Yokohama International School where she introduced the Reggio approach. HIS is bringing Junko-sensei to work with our EY teachers so that they may deepen their understandings on the Reggio approach.

Dormitory Parking

The parking spaces under the new dormitory wing are somewhat low at the far, north end of the building.
The school has installed signs to indicate the height. Please avoid parking tall vehicles in that section.
Our thanks for your cooperation.

 Sports

Great effort by the JV Boys Basketball team at their tournament last weekend. On Friday they defeated YIS 43-35 and then CA 44-34. This put them straight through to the semi-finals to play Osaka IS on Saturday morning. This was a double overtime thriller which unfortunately we lost 46-44. Then we played St Maurs in the 3rd place playoff and we defeated them 25-21 to claim a trophy. A BIG thanks to Coach Cenobia and chaperone Ms. Tanya for always supporting the boys.
Meanwhile, at school, the HS boys and girls teams both had much-needed practice games over the weekend. This week they head off to Kobe and Nagoya for their tournaments. Good luck to everyone.

Go Huskies!
